Pentosan is a potent anti-inflammatory and inhibitor of cartilage enzymatic breakdown. It may provide the following benefits to stimulate cartilage synthesis and prevention of cartilage breakdown:

• Improve blood flow to the sub-chondral bone under the worn cartilage. Treatment for pain in people with osteoarthritis of the knee and lesions in the subchondral bone (the layer of bone just below the cartilage in joints which acts as a so-called “shock-absorber”) is limited.
